I'm posting this because it took me time to figure out. Keep the fix in a notepad and repaste it or check the ini each time before launch. ini sometimes reverts back to default non controller settings every few game launches, i can't tell if this is a ubi or steam issue. My steam controller settings are mostly typical or default. And discover the origin story of the Assassin’s Brotherhood. This works for PS5 controllers as well as PS4 as i stated above, i am using a PS5 controller on steam AC:origins without ds4 or anything else which works flawlessly, rumbles etc. With the game launched you then need to change the "controller icons" to "DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller" which should look like this: "SelectedPad=XBOX 360/ONE For Windows (Controller)" is the one ini code that works SelectedPad=None, SelectedPad=PS4 Controller and SelectedPad=Wireless Controller don't function correctly or have limited function for playstation controls but have been suggested on other threads/forums SelectedPad=XBOX 360/ONE For Windows (Controller)
Your "input" should look like this which looks silly because its xbox but it works: Simply go into Steam and choose add non steam game, select browse and navigate to your Uplay folder(or origin or whatever), select the Launcher executable.
To use PS5/PS4 controllers and stop keyboard conflicts on AC:origins on steam you have to change "ACO.ini" with notepad found in "C:\Users\***username**\Documents\Assassin's Creed Origins"
